I created a poster for a dance festival about Pandanggo sa Ilaw, also known as the Dance of Light, a folk dance popular in the Philippines and known for its waltz-style and for balancing a lighted lamp while dancing.
I designed the poster using only typography, creating dance-like movement in the type. I selected a serif typeface for the title and informational text to capture the waltz-style look, utilizing high-contrast black and white tones. The text flows in an upward and downward motion, directly mirroring the physical movement and balance of the dancers.
